Dark, brilliant, and spooky are all terms that represent Poe's writing. The author has sucessfully created frightning classics. Including the fall of the house of usher, which is bursting with ideas that are impossible to not use. When writing a scary story one of the first places to look for inspiration is Poe's stories.
One of the things the author did best was his use of imagery. Bringing to our minds his idea trought exelent imagery. This creates an atmosphere of sickness and horror which is another great achivement. His diction is something we would all copy, poe brings together an amazing piece with an advance type of vocabulary.
The author knows his readers well and displays this when he writes the house of usher. I mean who doesn't love a sick twist like discovering incest between twins. He had us all in the edge of our seats with that one. Ofcourse his ending was tje most impressive, leaving us all wondering the reality of the tale.
However there are a couple of things that could of improved the story. One of the beign no survivors. Whenever there is an ending with all the characters dead it gives a type of shock that only fictional deaths can give readers. Another improvement could of been highlighting the deaths of the wife/twin sister. Maybe even discribing in more detail how the death took place. Just to give the audience a wider perspective and incrrase the horror. Despite all this Edgar Poe is a remarkable author who has done much for American literature
